Kraft Foods Gift Basket Giveaway
November 19, 2009 | Filed Under Giveaway | 218 Comments
Updated to add: This giveaway is now closed. The winner is Johnlyn from Hummingbird Homemaking!!
Wheee, did you read that? I’m giving away a basket! Okay not just a basket (although just that would delight me to no end
) but a basket filled with great stuff too. Yup Kraft Food products and a basket, did I mention the basket?
This giveaway was a no brainer for me. I heart Kraft Foods. I use their recipes in my menu planning all the time. The recipes are simple and easy to prepare with usually minimal, not so fancy I can’t buy it in a normal grocery store ingredients. I like that, it makes me happy and it saves my family $$. I like that a lot!
Here are some of our family favorite recipes from Krafts Foods. These are all off the Kraft Canada site (because that’s where I live) but the US site is very similar.

Smarter Fettuccinie Alfredo with Chicken

Okay now that I’m super hungry, how about a giveaway! Check out the beautiful gift basket that one of you lucky ladies (men?) will win.

Okay that basket makes me drool almost more than the recipes do. Just think of the organizing possibilities of it! What? You want to know about what’s inside? Oh alright.
This basket includes:
4 delicious holiday recipes from the Kraft Foods Kitchens, a Zak Designs garlic peeler, an HA Mack olivewood mixing spoon, NEW Velveeta Rotini and Cheese Whole Grain, Planters cocktail peanuts, Planters pecans, Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate, Stove Top, Honey Maid cinnamon crackers, Jet Puffed marshmallows, Oreos, Kraft salad dressing, NEW Maxwell House Blend coffee, NEW Ritz Brown Sugar Cinnamon crackers and NEW Wheat Thin Flatbread crackers.
Kraft Foods recently re-launched their Facebook Fan Page and The Kraft Foods Channel on YouTube. Both sites have delicious recipes and seasonal tips…just in time for the holidays! They also provide a forum to exchange ideas and recipes, ask questions and provide feedback. Also Kraft Foods is on Twitter as well.
I personally had no idea about the YouTube channel and can’t get enough of it now. As you know cooking doesn’t come naturally for me so watching how it’s done is a huge help.
Kraft Foods would love your feedback on these new channels and as a thank you is giving away a gift basket to one lucky commenter for doing so. In order to be entered into the giveaway just leave a comment answering the following question:
“What do you think of the new Kraft channels (Youtube and Facebook) that Kraft Foods has added to their family of resources?”
For an additional entry you can also Tweet the giveaway by tweeting the following phrase:
Win a Kraft Foods Gift Basket from @orgjunkie and @Kraftfoods http://tiny.cc/uzO3c
(don’t forget to leave a separate comment telling me you have done so)
Giveaway ends on Tuesday, November 24th at 9:00 pm PST.
Disclosure: Kraft Foods made two gift baskets available. One for me and my family as well as one to give away to a reader. The opinions listed above are my own and not just something I made up because they are sending me a basket. Honest.

Liked the Facebook page, very nice that someone is responding quickly to the comments!
Found the YouTube page a little confusing to navigate. For example, until I read down below about the class re: fresh produce, I didn’t realize there was anything other than recipes on there. If possible, it might be nice to sort the videos into categories (e.g., recipes – main, sides, dessert; shopping instructions, general cooking technique instructions, etc.).
Also, for the recipes, it might be nice to have the recipe (or at least the ingredients) listed under the video – so you can take a quick skim and make sure it’s something you’re interested in before you take the time to watch the video.
Jessica McCoy on November 19th, 2009 10:31 am
I absolutely LOVE both the Youtube site and the Facebook site! I cannot wait to watch more of the videos and learn how to do different recipes. I’m definately a fan on facebook now too!

Second I’m addicted to Facebook and I’m happy to be a fan. I know alot of my mommy friends will be joining soon. Thanks for the chances to win such a great basket!

I love Kraft and love being able to access them in many ways. MMmmmm!
Haley D. on November 21st, 2009 5:57 am
I’m already a fan of Kraft Foods! I would rather have one place to go for everything I need rather than a bunch of different places. I have too much to do to hunt them down! LOL
Casie on November 21st, 2009 6:00 am
I use facebook daily, so it’s nice to have that link without having to go straight to kraft’s website.
Denise O. on November 21st, 2009 8:12 am
Love that they are on FB!!! I usually access my recipes from my iPod Touch and this will certainly help add more recipes to my families favorites!
Mona on November 21st, 2009 10:01 am
Anything that helps to get dinner on the table is good for me!
Denise on November 21st, 2009 10:19 am
I think it’s great that Kraft is also on Facebook and YouTube. The more places to access those recipes the better!
Becky on November 21st, 2009 10:27 am
I love that they have these other sites with lots of ways to access recipes and info!
Stephanie G. on November 21st, 2009 10:53 am
I really enjoyed looking through the Facebook page and was glad to see Kraft is donating meals for e-cards sent through their site! That’s terrific! The YouTube channel was fun and it’s great for my daughter and son who are learning to cook.
Lisa on November 21st, 2009 12:28 pm
I don’t Tweet, but do think their videos may be useful and I like just about everything on FACEBOOK!

Oops…
I just checked out the Facebook page and it is awesome!! I’m now a fan!
annalene on November 21st, 2009 3:39 pm
Definitely a good resource, and Kraft should use it to try and make a genuine connection with their customers. I know a lot of brands use facebook to interact with customers and a responsive company is a much better one in the consumers eye. Also, I wish the youtube channel had a bit more ‘healthy’ recipes, maybe things also that cater to people with special dietary needs (gluten free, vegetarian/vegan, low sugar, etc).

I spend so much time of Facebook, anyway, that I’m always happy to see foodie sites/products I use active on it. Kraft on FB will also make it easier to share recipes with my friends
Now, Kraft just needs to join Flickr!

I don’t have a facebook account but it would be nice to watch some of the recipes.

I get the newsletter from Kraft Foods but having access on facebook is even better!
Sarah on November 21st, 2009 5:14 pm
I love that Kraft has added the Facebook channel! It makes it that much easier to access recipe ideas. I prefer going to companies’ Facebook fan page over going to their traditional websites or receiving e-mail newsletters, particularly because I don’t have to delete e-mails.
Thanks for the chance to win, Laura and Kraft!
Deb on November 21st, 2009 6:14 pm

Tami on November 21st, 2009 6:35 pm
What a beautiful basket.
Ashley on November 21st, 2009 8:22 pm
By being on Facebook and YouTube, Kraft is certainly expanding it’s advertising horizons. I believe that Kraft is able to appeal to more than just mom’s who want to cook great food cheap. By being a part of Facebook and YouTube, Kraft is enabling themselves to serve a younger crowd. I am happy to see that children will continue to love Kraft as much as I do!

Wow – those videos are awesome – I’ve saved them in my favorites! As a girl that grew up with a non-cooking mom, and now a mom of 4, I find it difficult to make up recipes – watching and learning – perfect ! Thanks for the links – will add FB Fans as well !
Teri on November 23rd, 2009 7:03 am
I like being able to access their info from somewhere other than their direct site. I can get to it from FB which I love!
Barbara H. on November 23rd, 2009 7:09 am
What a great giveaway!
Though usually I’d rather skim through an article or recipe than watch someone make it, sometimes it does help to be able to see what the instructions are talking about, so I am glad there are some videos available if I feel a need to look further.
I did look at the Facebook page — I am ambivalent about it. I don’t use FB to keep up with businesses.
Christy on November 23rd, 2009 7:12 am
I think that Kraft is great! I love that they have additional resources available to all of us web-friendly people!

I had no idea they had a channel. Thanks for letting us know, Laura! Love how they write the ingrediant amounts onto the screen as they are showing you the recipe.
Thanks Kraft for the giveaway!
Sarah on November 23rd, 2009 10:17 am
I think it’s great that Kraft is branching out into new ways to reach people, like on Facebook and Youtube. Great job!!
Susan on November 23rd, 2009 10:43 am
I think they’re fine – however, I wish Kraft had taken some of the resources devoted to these new efforts and kept the “food and family” magazine free. I wrote an article on the magazine no longer being free and received a lot of feedback, all expressing disappointment. Not everyone prefers “new fangled” and I am sorry Kraft may be losing several fans this way.
Melissa on November 23rd, 2009 10:53 am
I didn’t even know about the YouTube channel until you brought it up here. Looks like I may have some new videos to watch. Always been a fan of their site, so I’m sure this will be great too!

I love facebook and I love Kraftfoods.com! The combination of the two is perfect. While I’m seemingly wasting time catching up with friends on FB, I can also be planning dinner. It’s a very convenient addition for me and a smart way for Kraft to spread the joy of cooking to an audience that may not spend vast amounts of time looking up recipes like I do!

Sorry to have missed the Kraft Foods chat via their Facebook site. Will be on the lookout for the notes. I also agree with a prior post about the high quality of the YouTube videos and that it might be a little more useful to have categories of videos. That said, I am totally intrigued by the idea of adding cream cheese to my spaghetti sauce for a new twist on a family fave. It may just make it into an upcoming menu plan!

I really like that I can watch someone else cook. I’m sure anyone watching me would swear it was a comedy routine. I’m getting better, but watching someone else is helping tremendously.
Chasity Anderson on November 24th, 2009 7:16 am
It is always better to be able to SEE what a recipe is supposed to look like each step of the way- it can give you courage to keep going or the ability to start over (if needed).
