Updated to add:  This giveaway is now closed.  The winner is #84 Carla!

Friends, it’s that time of the year again.  That time of the year when we promise ourselves that this is the year we are finally going to get organized for the holidays.  Well how would you like a little helping hand keeping that promise to yourself once and for all this year?

Get Organized for the Holidays

My friend Aby Garvey of Simplify 101 is once again offering her very popular 5-lesson/10-week online workshop Get Organized for the Holidays and this year I’m excited to announce that I’m going to be a part of it, yay!  Aby has asked me to to contribute by offering a bonus handout to participants on Holiday Meal Planning Made Easy.   I truly believe the holidays are about spending quality time with family and friends and not about spending hours in the kitchen missing out on all the fun.  It’s definitely possible with some advance planning and during the workshop I’m going to show you how.

This fantastic holiday workshop is set to begin next week and there are many more highlights and benefits to signing up.  Some of those include:

  • Figuring out what’s most important to you and your family to have a joyful holiday season.
  • Creating a holiday planner and filling it up with printable forms and worksheets that will organize all aspects of your holiday preparations.
  • Creating a customized holiday plan so you can get it all done. You’ll be organized, prioritized and energized!
  • Learning practical, doable strategies for simplifying the key areas of your holiday preparations…from cooking, baking and entertaining, to shopping, wrapping and sending out holiday cards.
  • Sharing gift ideas, recipes, holiday traditions, tips and more in the private workshop forum.
  • Learning a simple process for getting your holiday gifts put away and your home put back together.
  • Learning how to store your holiday décor efficiently and effectively.
  • Getting tips and ideas for making next year’s holiday season even better than this year, and exchange ideas with your classmates.
  • Sharing photos of your holiday decorations and storage solutions in the online photo gallery.
  • Creating a simple and fun project to organize your holiday cards so you can enjoy them next year.

Today I am giving away ONE spot in this upcoming workshop.  All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post answering the following question:

Which one of the above workshop highlights interests you the most?

Last day to enter is Saturday, October 31st at 12:00 pm PST.

Happy holiday organizing everyone!

The entire workshop seems very intriguing to me but the section about how to put away your gifts and putting your home back together after the holidays interests me the most. I struggle with this every single year!

Gosh I really could use the segment on the practical doable strategies. I for the life of me cannot figure out how the holidays slip upon me so quickly. It’s not like a big surprise every year that Christmas falls on December 25 yet every year I am taken by surprise. What is with me? Learing how to get it all done seems like a dream come true. Thanks for trying to help me figure it all out.

I like the part on sharing photos and how to organize them. I am a photographer that is hoping to go professional and the holidays are an amazing opportunity for pictures.. Organizing them is another thing.

That sounds great! I recently spent 3 days of non-stop organizing and got rid of 12 boxes of clutter! My only problem is that I can’t STAY that way as I am trying to potty train my 2-2year old little girls. I was so proud of myself getting all that accomplished but it seems like I am doing it all over again everyday! ANY TIPS?:)

Practical and doable have a new definition in my life as I have just started cancer treatment. I would LOVE some tips to get organized so I can delegate responsibilities to others who want to help me and so I won’t be so overwhelmed with all there is to do. Organization will also help me use my good days effectively!

Definately creating the holiday plan and it will be more important this year. I have a 6 yr old who loves Christmas, a two year old who turns 3 on Dec 13th and a baby on the way with a few complications that may end in bed rest soon due March 2010. Boy do I need some plans so it all goes smoothly! Congrats on getting recognized for all those great organizing and meal plan tips!

I’m having my second baby in March and have just finished cleaning out all my closets and rooms of last year’s gifts and decorations to make room for the new baby! So, I’m very interested in the “Learning a simple process for getting your holiday gifts put away and your home put back together” portion of the workshop. As soon as we get home from Christmas this year, we will be redoing my toddler’s room and setting up the new baby’s room, and Christmas gifts and decorations just can’t be hanging around in our extra room anymore!

If I had to choose one of the suggestions you have it would have to be Learning a simple process for getting your holiday gifts put away and your home put back together.
But if I could choose anything at all, I could really use help with the storage and wrapping of the gifts. Currently, they are in the master bath in boxes, one box for each child (I have three) plus another box for my son’s birthday which is 2 days before Christmas.

I’d never thought of that and now am mourning the loss of the beautiful photo cards that I threw away last year (and previous years) in an attempt to remain de-cluttered. I’d love to learn strategies for simplifying shopping, wrapping and card-sending. I have to send cards and gifts around the country, so I have to start early and be organized or it’ll be a disaster.

I’m a self employed single mom of one who also just became a foster parent so the “Learning practical, doable strategies for simplifying the key areas of your holiday preparations” really appeals to me. I am all about family & making the most of what truly matters in life. Any organizational help I can get is a blessing!

Christmas is my favorite holiday and I would love to be able to enjoy it more by being more organized, I have started working and now organizing is a MUST! Anyway I would be most interested in the project using old cards as I hate to throw them out and have about 5 years worth in my Christmas bin!!!

It all sounds great but for me I need help the most in the Figuring out what’s most important to you and your family to have a joyful holiday season. We have 9 children and I seem to get so busy and stressed out that I’m not sure my kids really even enjoy the holidays. I need to figure out what is most important and prioritize that and stop trying to cram everything else in…..

Learning practical, doable strategies for simplifying the key areas of your holiday preparations…from cooking, baking and entertaining, to shopping, wrapping and sending out holiday cards.

That is the one that interests me most. I always need things like this during the holidays!

Our holiday decor is completely disorganized, spread throughout our house, and shoved wherever it fits. The organization of this disarray is definitely of great interest to me. I would love some lessons in holiday organization and planning!

Being that I usually hit my head and say, Oh crap I need to do XYZ TODAY or it won’t get done in time, I’m most interested in being forced to “Learn practical, doable strategies for simplifying the key areas of your holiday preparations…from cooking, baking and entertaining, to shopping, wrapping and sending out holiday cards.”

Oh! The getting your home back in order segment! I love all the anticipation leading up to the holidays, but this year I’ve scheduled surgery for 12/29 that will have me in a cast/boot for 12 weeks. I *need* to break it down in two days!

“Figuring out what’s most important to you and your family to have a joyful holiday season” is something I am seeking as the Holiday season approaches. As a SAHM of triplet boys, we have a fairly hectic existence but I recognize that it is up to me to set the pace. To lead the charge as we move forward into our own traditions and family memories yet to be created. This is the first year that all grandparents are far away and it is important to me that it be a joyous and memorable time for the kids (and all of us). Of course, I could use help in every topic set to be covered by the workshop so I really hope you pick me!

As a working mother of 2 children (with a wide age range) it is very difficult to manage everyone’s schedules. My dear husband is great at contributing, but when it comes to the holidays – - it’s all me!! This workshop would be a HUGE help in getting myself organized and being able to make the holidays great. Time management, as well as keeping the budget down are very difficult things to do, especially when you have a hard time paying attention to little details. Please pick me for the workshop!!!

The whole workshop seems amazing! I know when entertaining guests I get caught up in making sure everything is perfect. And I usually spend the days before and the day of, doing nothing but preparing. THEN, when the guests arrive, I’m still preparing and cooking. I never get to spend time with my family on holidays. I’m pregnant with my second, due any day. This year, I want it to be different. I want to be able to enjoy the holidays starting with Thanksgiving! Having a newborn and a toddler will make things extremely difficult; however, if I have a customized holiday plan, I will be able to enjoy the holidays and my family!

As a homeschool mom of a teenager, and 3 more kiddos under the age of 9, I am in desperate need of this workshop!! My home is my office, school, and sanctuary. There are days when I don’t even leave the house at all, so I’d love to be able to find a way to organize all these different aspects of my home, so that we can all relax and enjoy the holidays!!

I’m preparing to move in the next two years to a smaller home and realize the being organized is the key to a sucessful move.

Being temporarly unemployeed has finally given me the time to get organized – - One space / Function at the time.

      What I need most is….

■Creating a customized holiday plan so you can get it all done. You’ll be organized, prioritized and energized!

This is the year life changes, we are doing less at Grandmas and more (Hopefully) at home.

Being organized also forces me to set limits – - how many x do I really need.

“Creating a customized holiday plan so you can get it all done. You’ll be organized, prioritized and energized! ” I’ve never felt ENERGIZED during the Christmas season – just plain exhausted. Having a family of 6 – including a set of triplets – makes it difficult to get it all done…but this year I want to actually enjoy Christmas with my family and have a plan!

The entire workshop sounds great, but I am really needing to do the first part – decide what is important to our family so the Christmas holiday can be filled with joy!! From there, everything else would fall into place because it would be easier to say no to the “fluff and fuss”. Thanks for the opportunity!

This is a really wonderful idea for a workshop but the part that interests me the most is definitely figuring out how to make the holidays more joyful for the entire family. We have started a few family traditions that help in this area but the holidays are still so stressful. It’s not supposed to be like this. Please help!

      Without a doubt…

Creating a customized holiday plan so you can get it all done. You’ll be organized, prioritized and energized!

By the time Christmas Eve. is here each year, I am done. I am frantically decorating last minute baking, wrapping gifts that need to be distributed to extended family that very night, and on and on, all to culminate with putting together the breakfast casserole at about 1 a.m. before finally crashing and getting … maybe 4 hours sleep. 4 hours sleep does not a happy Christmas morning mama make!

I would love some help this year to learn to achieve balance and actually enjoy the holiday season. I assume that really is possible, right? ;)

      Thanks for your generosity!

In an effort to keep Christ in Christmas, our holidays are more about homemade gifts, making memories as a family, giving to others in need, sacrificing our own wants for the benefit of others, etc. So, I would like to have more ideas for gift ideas, recipes and traditions!

Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot in the workshop!

My wish/hope for this season is to bring joy to my family just not on the day, but the season. Spending time, baking cookies, playing, visiting friends, family gatherings. These are the memories we’ll always cherish. I want my kids to remember the joy not the presents.
